Arturo Montes, Director, Matilda, SpongeBob

Arturo Montes (He/Him) is excited to be making his directorial debut at Theatre in the Mountains with such an exciting and fun show, Roald Dahl's Matilda! He is a San Jose native and currently an actor in training at San Jose State university, pursuing a B.A. in Theater Arts. He has been focused on acting for the last few years, with some of his credits including Fun Home, The River Bride, Kinky Boots, and Toxic at City Lights Theater Company, Into the Woods at Foothill Musical Theater, and Beauty and the Beast at Palo Alto Players. He is excited to get this opportunity to step off the stage and get to be on the other side of the curtain. A proud first-generation university student, he is grateful to be given the opportunity to pursue his dreams and take advantage of the opportunities in the Bay Area theater scene. He hopes to help pave a larger path for young Chicano & Latinx/Hispanic actors throughout his career.

 

Mylissa Malley, Choreographer/Assistant Director, Matilda, SpongeBob

Mylissa is choreographing at Theatre in the Mountains for the first time and is really enjoying the community here! Other choreography credits include 25th Annual...Spelling Bee (Los Altos Youth Theatre), Wizard of Oz (LyricTheatre), Joseph...Technicolor Dreamcoat (Starting Arts), and Little Shop of Horrors (Los Altos Youth Theatre), which she also directed. Her choreography has been seen on the indie film circuit, and in various summer camps and school districts around the Bay Area. When not choreographing, she is also a performer herself, and runs a murder mystery dinner theatre company - The Clue Collective. For more information see mylissamalley.com.

Melanie Camras, Musical Director, SpongeBob

Miss Melanie (she/ they) is excited for her first all ages show with TIM! She previously music directed The Music Man and Seussical, Jr. She's been singing since 1986, playing piano since 1992, acting since 1996, and performing/ teaching music/ theatre with various (children’s) theatre companies across North America since 2001. She earned a B.A. in drama from Washington University in St. Louis, and musical theatre has long been one of her greatest passions. She’s taught/ performed locally with All About Theatre, Cabrillo (Stage), Actor’s Theatre, and Christian Youth Theatre. Miss Melanie also teaches private piano and voice lessons, and occasionally provides nurture therapy for adults, and childcare.

 
 

Evandra Aurelia, Musical Director, Matilda, Hats

Evandra Aurelia is proud to be the Musical Director for TIM's production of Matilda: The Musical. Evandra, AMDA graduate, is a professional Actress, Singer, Voice Teacher, and was previoiusly the Musical Director for Urinetown: The Musical at SVHS. This summer Evandra had the honor of portaying Miss Honey with SVCT, and recieved their Member's Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress. Evandra would like to thank her mother for singing to her every night, being the inspiration for her love of music and theatre, and for always being her most vocal supporter. Lauren Berling, Artistic Assistant, Matilda

Lauren Berling (she/her) is delighted to be assisting with Theatre in the Mountain’s production of Matilda! Lauren has recently graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. in Creative Arts and a minor in Musical Theatre, and has choreographed for the school’s theatre club in their production of Firebringer. Typically, you’ll find Lauren on the performing side of projects as an actor. She was last seen as Aggie Wheeler in Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot; or Holmes for the Holidays at City Lights Theater Company. Previous musical credits: Kinky Boots at City, Into the Woods and Urinetown at SJSU, Beauty and the Beast at South Valley Civic Theatre, Company at South Bay Musical Theatre.
